Alberta Lee “Bertie” May, 71 of Farmington, WV passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 12, 1943 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Stewart Furbee and her step-father James Furbee of Clarksburg.

She is survived her husband, James Francis May, of Farmington, with whom she was married to for 49 years; 3 daughters, Sherry Worth and husband Thomas of Fairmont, Carol McGinty and husband James of Mannington, and Patty Reutter and husband Will of Mannington; 10 grandchildren, Paige and Craig Pellegrin, Chad and Alex Efaw, September Sayre, Jimmy McGinty, Chastity McGinty, Lyndsey Reutter, Corrie Reutter and Autumn Reutter; 3 great-grandchildren, Gerald Sayre II, Cori Jo McGinty and Jayden McGinty. She was loved by a big extended family including several step-brothers, step-sisters, in-laws and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Alberta was preceded in death by her step-brother, Donald Butch Furbee; brother-in-law, Lynn Herbert; sister-in-law, Janet May; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis May and Helen May.

Alberta worked at Fairmont General Hospital in housekeeping, and A1-Truck Service in Fairmont. She enjoyed her family and her grandchildren, as well as ceramics, traveling and hosting family functions.

Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home at 209 Main Street, Mannington for Visitation on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 2-8pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 1:00pm with Reverend Leonard Graham officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
