Billy Richard Fluharty, age 84 of Plum Run, Mannington, WV passed away and went to the great hunting and fishing camp in the sky on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the John Manchin Sr. Healthcare in Fairmont. He was born April 4, 1931 at Plum Run, WV, son of the late Elery Fluharty and Jessie Myers Fluharty.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Eva Lue Digman Fluharty; a daughter, Rhonda Sue Rush and husband Timothy of Plum Run; 2 grandchildren, Natalie Dawn Swiger and husband H.D. of Worthington and Christopher Adam Bagwell of Plum Run; 2 great-grandchildren, Harley Swiger and Kalie Swiger; one sister, Marjorie Lucille Stevens and husband Charles Robert of Plum Run; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kay Bagwell, and one brother, Ike Fluharty.

Billy was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Hap Huey Lumber Co., Owens Illinois in Fairmont till they closed and retired from the Marion Co. Board of Education. He enjoyed hunting and fishing greatly.

There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Per Billy’s request, cremation was chosen as his final method of disposition. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of his arrangements. On-line condolences may be left at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com.
