Edna Jeanette Shaver, age 82 of Farmington, WV passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Park Township, Michigan, the daughter of the late Edwin D. Slack and Georginia L. Gemberling Slack.

Edna is survived by her children, Howard Shaver of Mims, FL, Lilly Miller of Fairmont, WV, Annie Ponikvar of New Martinsville, WV, Daniel Shaver of Elyria, OH, and James Shaver of Fairmont, WV; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Slack of Three Rivers, MI; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by 3 sons, Chuck Dodge, Thomas Dodge and Donnie Shaver; 7 siblings, Clayton, Jennie, Katherine, Edwin, Norman, Laura and Bertrand who died in infancy; and a very good friend, Ed Porter.

Edna worked and retired as a social worker for the State of West Virginia. She kept active working up until 2 years ago when her health didn’t permit it. She was non-denominational. She enjoyed going to Flea Markets and working fairs. She enjoyed gambling. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.

There will be no viewing and funeral services. Edna’s choice for final disposition was cremation. A visitation will be held on August 26, 2017 from 11am-1pm with a memorial service beginning at 1pm in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Edna’s cremains will be interred at the family cemetery in Michigan. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com

im so sorry for her familys lose i grew up with her granddaughters and she took care of my pap til he passed away Ed porter.she will be greatly missed.love you and hope your doing well
