Jason Lee Starsick, 31, of Enterprise, WV, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1983 at Fairmont, WV, son of Regina Matheny Knowlton and her husband William and the late Louis Starsick.
Jason is survived by his wife, Heather Helmick-Starsick, to whom he was a devoted husband, having always taking care of during her illness. He is also survived by his daughter, Jaylynn Starsick; 2 brothers, Joshua Starsick and wife Marcia of Carolina, Jeremy Starsick, of Willard, WV; a sister, Annie Wotring and husband Ryan of Fairmont; several nieces and nephews, Morgan Starsick, Bailey Starsick, Ava Starsick, Scarlett Starsick, Caedmon Wotring, Chloe Wotring, Joel Wotring, Josiah Wotring; his grandmother, Betty Matheny; uncles and aunts, Tom and Charlotte Starsick, Bobby Starsick, Pat Starsick, Terry and Vickie Starsick, Mark and Cara Starsick, Jack and Judy Starsick, Cathy Bee and Vicky Wells; cousin, Michael Lamp and several other cousins also survive.
In addition to his father, Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Henry Matheny and Jack and Geraldine “Gerry” Starsick.
Jason was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Iraq Conflict. He worked for Dish Satellite, and was last employed at the VA in Clarksburg. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding 4-Wheelers, spending time with Jaylynn and helping anyone that needed help. Jason was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
While the casket will remain closed, family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Jim Glaspell, a friend of the family, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairmont. Full Military Services will be provided by the Marion County Veterans Council and the United States Army at the graveside. I served with Starsick in the army, and had the honor of serving with him in Iraq. Haven't seen him in a long time but he was still a brother. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good guy! My condolences go out to his family.
