Joy Sue Starkey, 68, of Fairmont, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Peirpont Center at the Fairmont Campus. She was born July 10, 1949 at New Brighton, PA, a daughter of the late George Frederick Park and Irene Myrl Efaw Park.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Starkey of Wileyville, WV; a granddaughter, Elanore Cunningham of Four States; 2 sisters, Helen Stottlemire of Hundred and Margaret Park of Kentucky; a brother, Bill Park of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Theophilus Park, George Park Jr., Ethel Snodgrass and Mary Park.
Joy was a homemaker. She enjoyed swimming, reading, playing cards and bingo.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, Mannington, WV on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 10am-12pm with funeral services beginning at 12pm with Pastor Gary Grant officiating. Aunt Joy was quite possibly my favorite aunt! She was aptly named as I always remember her smiling and laughing. In the last few years we reconnected and in every conversation she talked about her son, then her granddaughter, how they were her life. God bless you, Jonathan and Eleanor. Aunt Joy was loved and will be missed!
