Laura Dessie Tasker, 75 of Mannington, WV passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at The Arbors in Fairmont. She was born July 25, 1939 in Wetzel County, WV, a daughter of the late John Gump and Anna Starkey Gump.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah “Susie” Zirkle of Mannington; 3 grandchildren, Brittany Isner of Mannington, Erin Zirkle of Morgantown, and Joshua Zirkle and wife Megan of White City, Oregon; 2 great-grandchildren, Reese and Rhett Zirkle of White City, Oregon; one brother, Ralph Starkey and wife Regina of Owings, WV; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Bill Tasker, who died June 5, 1996; four brothers, Jake, Jim, Chuck and Pete Starkey; 6 sisters, Ruth, Ember, Grace, Blanche, Alice and Mae; and one granddaughter, Malaya Zirkle.

Laura was a member of the Mannington Moose Lodge #1054. She enjoyed sewing and her puppies.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 2-6:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m. with Mike Williams officiating.
