Margaret Alice Reed, age 78 of Burton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, WV. She was born June 11, 1939 at Joetown, WV, a daughter of the late Otis Ross Martin and Connie May Hays Martin.
She is survived by two sons, James Ross Reed and wife Tammie of Glovers Gap and Charles Earl Reed and companion Becky Stout of St. Leo; 4 grandchildren, Eric and Michelle Reed of Glovers Gap, Coty and Jessica Reed of Mannington, Bethany and Joey Slater of Joetown, and Landon and Raelyn Leonard of St. Leo; 4 brothers, Denzil and Darlene Martin of Ohio, Calvin and Cathern Martin of Monongah, Donald and MaryAnn Martin of Ice’s Run, and Robert and Ethel Martin of Rymer; 3 sisters, Charlotte Kuhn of Burton, Dorothy Hendershot of Dents Run, and Vida “Jeanie” and Dave Hill of Moundsville.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed who died August 23, 2007; a son, Donnie Reed; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; an infant son and an infant brother.
Margaret was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington. She enjoyed working in the garden tending to her vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St Mannington on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services with be held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mannington on Friday, January 12, 2018, where Mrs. Reed will lie in state from 10-11:00am with funeral services beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating.
