Very sadden to see that Uncle Ralph has passed away. I had just had a dream in which I saw my Dad crying and I woke up wondering who he was crying for. So glad that Ralph had such a long life after the heart condition and aneurism like my Dad had. He was blessed. Up unitil a few years ago we were still exchanging Christmas cards. I am in Ohio now and with the bad weather I won't beable to come in for the funeral. Sorry about that. When we come in in the spring I will go to the cemetary to pay my respects. Somewhere I have a really great picture of him, Dad and Aunt Helen(I can't remember if Nettie is in it) out at the Seven Pine's Church for a reunion. Will have to see if I can find it. I resently lost a close friend who was 89. We think we will have them forever. Love to all of you, Mary Batson-Ford.

My time with the Batson family goes back 40+ years when I was a student at Fairmont State. There were similarities in our families--three girls in both of our families and a father who was quiet and strong. My father was fiercely proud of his girls as I know your father was of the three of you. Watching the Kentucky Derby in the Batson homeplace in Metz was the scene of my first meeting Ralph Batson. So many wonderful
moments have been shared since that time.

I am truly sorry for your loss, and I am truly honored to have shared so many great memories with the Batson girls. God Bless!
