Robert “Bob” Harrison Porter, 87, of Mannington died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown WV. He was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Marion County, the son of the late William and Dolly Hillberry Porter.

He is survived by “his very special Mary Jo Bragg”, one son: Robert L. “Bobby” and wife, Kim Porter, of Mannington, three daughters: Belinda Davis of Houston TX, Diana and husband, Alan Cunningham, of Fairmont, Cheryl and husband, Marty Blake of Fairmont, one brother: Jack and wife, Eva Porter of Moundsville, one sister: Barbara Michael of Mannington, one brother-in-law; Bill Gorbey of Mannington, one sister-in-law: Pauline Porter of Mannington, three grandsons: David Davis and wife, Shirlee of Houston TX, Joshua Davis and wife, Marija of Cleveland OH and Cameron Liggett and companion, Sydney Bock of Mannington, two granddaughters: Hope Harbin and husband, Jon, of Mannington and Cassie Porter of Mannington, one gr-granddaughter: Selah Davis of Houston TX, and several nieces and nephews

“Bob” was Baptist by faith and attended the Llewellyn Baptist Church faithfully. He retired from Pennzoil Oil Company, where he pumped wells for 35 years. He enjoyed farming, camping, traveling, and picnicing at road-side parks. He was always ready to lend a hand, and would give “the shirt off his back”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Gay Lemley Porter on Feb. 19, 1995, a brother: William Ray Porter; two sisters: Mary Beth Anderson, and Sally Ann Gorbey, and two brothers-in-law: Lee Anderson and Hoover Michael.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. Mannington on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 3-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Larry Watson and Tim Shearer officiating.
