Ronald Forrest Eakle, age 73 of Mannington, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Pierpont Center in Fairmont, WV. He was born November 8, 1944 at Gypsy, WV, a son of the late Farrell Leon Eakle and Olive Devere Burns Eakle.
He is survived by wife, Brenda Carol Wilfong Eakle of Mannington, with whom he was married to for 43 years; two children, Melissa Eakle of Strasburg, VA and Ronald F. Eakle III of Mannington; 3 grandchildren, Aelxis D. Eakle, Cassandra G. Eakle and Ricky R. Eakle; two brothers, Robert Eakle of Ohio and Richard Eakle of Worthington; three sisters, Ruth Gregory of Worthington, Neva Cottrill of Gypsy, and Eva O’Dell of Lumberport; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a son, Richard R. Eakle who died in February 2013; 2 sisters, Genevieve Tulanowski and Pat Mackay.
Ron worked for 37 years as a coal miner for Consolidated Coal Co. in various mines in the area and was also a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed hunting, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on projects.
The family would like to give Special Thanks to Pierpont Center for their excellent care of Ron the last 5 years.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St Mannington on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services with be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor James Kent officiating. Interment will be at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
