Freddie William “Bill” Gorbey, age 76, of Mannington, WV, passed away from a brief illness on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born October 18, 1938 at Fairview, WV son of the late John Henry Gorbey and Emma May Woods Gorbey.

He is survived by his 4 children, Donald Gorbey and fiancée Donna Katson of Baxter, Teresa A. Caisse and husband David of Mascutah, IL, Robert Gorbey of Grantown, and Barbara Ann Perkins and husband Woody of Mannington; 9 grandchildren, David (A.J.) Caisse Jr. of NC, Paul A. Caisse of VA, Sean Caisse of VA, Sawyer Perkins of Mannington, Michael William “Billy” Gorbey of Waynesburg, PA, Robert Leon Gorbey of Marietta, GA, Cassie Lanette Lambert of Fairmont, Narissa Lynn Casto of Pennsacola, FL, and Brandi Nicole Alexander Gorbey of Dundee, OH; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Gorbey and wife Joanne of Vermont; a sister, Opal Price of Wadestown; 3 sisters-in-law, Catherine Gorbey, Eva Porter and Barbara Porter of Mannington; a brother-in-law, Jack Porter of Moundsville; niece, Ann Pennington Gorbey and nephew Michael Gorbey; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a dear friend, John Whinne.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Sallyanne Porter Gorbey who died on May 13, 2013; 5 brothers, Charles Gorbey, Johnny Gorbey, Pat Gorbey, Raymond Gorbey and Ralph Gorbey; 3 sisters, Helen Brooks, Nellie Toothman and Hilda Gorbey.

Bill retired from Consolidated Coal Co. #20 and retired from Robinson Run #95. He was a member of the AF&AM Masonic Lodge #31. He enjoyed keeping his vehicles sparkling clean, mowing his grass and spending valuable time with his grandson Sawyer (Matt) Perkins who he called “Matt”.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. in Mannington, WV on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 from 1-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Burial will follow at the Whetstone Cemetery. Masonic services at the graveside will be rendered by AF&AM Masonic Lodge #31. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com.

Barb, We are so sorry to hear about cousin Bill. He told me he would let me know what the Doctor said but were out of town. We will miss him stopping at the car lot to talk
He was a great man. Such a sweet person. We feel for Matt. He was Bill's joy. Our love and sympathy to the family. LOL
