John "Mike" Thomas

John Michael “Mike” Thomas passed away on December 3, 2023 at 66 years old at his home in Metz, WV. He was born June 25, 1957, son of the late Meryl and Dot Smith Thomas.

He is survived by his sister Judith Neff of Mannington, two sisters-in-law, Sandra Thomas of Fairmont and Penny Thomas of Fairmont, his brother-in-law Ralph Dodd Jr. of Metz, his nephew and wife Joey and Angela Simms and their 2 children Finley and Caylum who were his caregivers the past few months, also Tyler and Scottland Simms and Kayla Simms and fiancée Seth Rhodes and son Xavier. Mike is also survived by his nieces and nephews Angela and Nate Moore and children D’Shae Denby, Khadijah, Khaliah and Kahlee McCoy, Chad and Monica Thomas and children Dominick, Diana and Nate Armistead and Dyer Thomas, Ginny and Robert Wolfe, Jimmy and Misty Troy and son Brogan and Brock, Lisa and Joe Deverick and children Elijah and Courtney Haskins and daughter Eleanor, Preston Deverick and Wyatt Deverick, and Ty and Paula Dodd.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his three brothers, Rick, Larry and Billie Thomas, his three sisters, Barbara Slay, Paula Dodd and Darlene Troy, and his three brothers-in-law, Sam Slay, Jim Troy and Nelson Neff.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3-7:00pm. There will be no funeral service as cremation was Mike’s choice for final disposition. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the convenience of the family at Thomas Cemetery on Campbell’s Run in Metz. The family would like to give a special Thank You to Sandra Thomas for all of her help in taking care of Mike.
