Mary Ann Powell, age 81 of Brink, WV, born July 3, 1941, was taken suddenly to her new life on Monday, January 8, 2024. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Baron Roger Powell who passed away July 28, 2023.

She is survived by five children, Sheila Stoneking and husband Ray of Hundred, Tracy Powell and wife Nancy of Mannington, Lisa Powell of Mannington, Rachel Toothman and husband Jesse of Fairview. She was the grandmother to Ashley Bolyard, Lucas Ford, Taylor Jolliffe, Shaffer Powell and Matthew Powell, and was the great-grandmother of five granddaughters including McKenna Martin, Ariana Bolyard, Maley Ford, Eliza Ford, and Ellie Ford.

In addition to her husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son Mark “Spike” Powell, her parents Ora and Hazel Frost, and her brother Jim Frost. She was the sister of Jack Frost and Linda Patterson.

Mary Ann faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Mannington. She also enjoyed a long career in the accounting department of the Pennzoil Company before her retirement. She was a faith filled, kind, warmhearted woman who journeyed through life, hand in hand with her loving husband of 59 years. Together, they selflessly offered help, care, and inspiration to anyone in need. They now rest together, full of trust in the resurrection.

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4-9:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 13, 2024 beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Jason Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mary Ann's passing. Since I haven't lived in Mannington for many years, I will always remember Mary Ann as a little girl and swimming dynamo. She was loved by all who knew her. My sincere sympathy to her family and friends.
