Summer Dawn Swiger

Our darling Summer Dawn Swiger sadly passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Fairmont Regional Medical Cente. She was born April 9, 1989 to two amazing parents, the late Drexel “Youngen” Swiger and Cheryl Lynn Hallinan. Summer was 34 years old when she passed.

She leaves behind her loving daughter August Noelle Gonzalez, two siblings, Drexel “Jr.” Swiger, and Brianna Meshelle Swiger, her sister-in-law Stacey Swiger, her aunt Shirley Dunigan, her step-mother Shawnna Swiger, as well as many cousins, loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Summer was preceded in death by her brother Drexel Harris, her maternal grandparents Paul V. Hallinan and Dawn Fuller, and her paternal grandparents Ralph and Opal “Peggy” Swiger.

Summer was a loving mother to her daughter August Noelle and was a ray of sunshine that spread her positivity to anyone that met her! She was a body-piercer and tattoo artist and she loving doing that as her job as she followed in her late father’s footsteps by opening a tattoo and piecing salon called Heritage Ink Tattoo. In her spare time, Summer enjoyed modeling and even won Miss Tattoo West Virginia, her first modeling contest ever! She loved to read books and when she wasn’t reading or watching a scary movie, she would often spend time soaking up as much sun as she could. Her laugh was contagious as we all know and she will be deeply missed as she was incredibly loved!

There will be no funeral home services as cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition. The family will announce memorial services for Summer at a later date. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Can't even begin to wrap my head around this loss. You were a dear friend and a bright spot in my day, each encounter. You had an ease about the way you managed your day and dealt with melodramas and block intrigues that I always envied. You were usually laughing or smiling, and if it wasn't sarcastic or biting, I usually ducked for cover on those, because your wit could roast!!- it was infectious and put people at ease in your presence. you will be remembered fondly chica, believe that. I pray for your family; my heart aches for Jason and Summer's family- she was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. Godspeed. Only the good die young. :'-(
