Alfred Nicholas “Al” Hugar, age 77 of Mount Clare, WV passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport, WV. He was born September 26, 1943 at South Williamsport, PA a son of the late Alfred N. Hugar Sr. and Sarah Bubb Hugar.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Connie McMunn Hugar of Mount Clare, WV; a step-daughter, Jessica Ensminger and son Cameron of Colliers, WV; three sisters, Eileen Soma of Hawley, PA, Sara “Sally” Forney of Muncy Valley, PA, and Andrea Roy of Rio Vista, CA; one brother, James “J” Hugar and wife Pat of Pasadena, CA; his mother-in-law, Lea Mae McMunn of Metz; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa McGill.
Al earned a degree in Electronics Engineering from Penn State. He had worked and retired from NASA having tracked space shuttles in Guam. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Bellefonte Area High School as well as Fairmont State with a Business Administration degree. He was a retired accountant for the State of West Virginia. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood and was a member of a model railroad club in the Clarksburg area.
Per Al’s wishes, direct cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. Any memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
