Baron “Roger” Powell, 81 of Brink, WV was taken to his new life on Friday July 28, 2023. He was the loving and devoted husband of Mary Ann (Frost) Powell for 59 years. Father of five children Sheila Stoneking and husband Ray of Hundred, Tracy Powell and wife Nancy of Mannington, Lisa Powell of Mannington, Rachel Toothman and husband Jesse of Fairview.
Grandfather to Ashley Bolyard, Lucas Ford, Taylor Jolliffe, Shaffer Powell and Matthew Powell. Great Grandfather of five granddaughters, including Mckenna Martin, Ariana Bolyard, Maley Ford, Eliza Ford, and Ellie Ford.
Roger was preceded in death by his son Mark “Spike” Powell of St. Paul, MO and parents John Delbert and Elvira Powell. Brother of Regina Hatfield of Clairton, PA, David Powell of Pine Grove, and Angie Dulaney of Weirton.
He was a faith filled member of the First Baptist Church of Mannington. A kind hardworking man, who was devoted to his family; offering his help and care to anyone who asked. His long career in the coal mines and oil fields included some of its most dangerous aspects along with mine rescue. He was tireless with his attention to his family, farm and especially his horses.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 2-8:00pm and Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Ethan Starcher officiating. Interment will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
