Betty Jean Craig Hixon Morley, 75 of Mannington, WV passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 28, 1935 at Shinnston, WV a daughter of the late William Linzy and Vica Coen Craig.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Hixon of Mannington and Ronald Hixon of Sardis; two daughters, Brenda Nichols and husband James of Shinnston and Deborah Hunter and husband Michael of Katy Community; nine grandchildren, James E. Nichols and fiancee Sarah Crosco of McHenry, MD, Michael E. Hunter II and wife Kayla of Boothsville, Robert K. Hixon and wife Rosa of Fairmont, Rachella "Shellie" Hixon of Mannington, Steven A. Hixon and fiancee Michelle Hootman of Greensburg, PA, Victoria L. Nichols of Shinnston, Daniel C. Hunter and Jessica M. Hunter both of Katy Community and Dakota R. Hixon of Rachel, WV; four great-grandchildren, LeAnna Hixon, McKenzie Hunter, Caleb M. Angeline, and Serena Hixon; one sister, Letha Mae Meadows and husband Vernon of Ochlochnee, Georgia; one brother, William "Bidge" Craig of Bobtown, PA; several special nieces and nephews, Frankie Craig and wife Marlene of Bobtown, PA, Randy Craig of Florida, Jeff Craig of Bobtown, PA, Vica Marie Brumback Mowery of Texas, and Patricia Brumback Moore Elder of Gypsy. She is also survived by several cousins and her dog, Mitzi.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hixon on May 10, 1974 and her second husband, Richard Morley on November 26, 1986 as well as three sisters, Carrie Lee Liller, Leona "Dolly" Miles and Edna Halligan.
Mrs. Morley was a member of the Monongah Baptist Church and was a born again believer.
Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Dean Brannen officiating. Burial will follow at Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
