
Charles “LeRoy” Burdine Jr., age 85 of Smithfield, WV passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born September 14, 1937 on Buck Run, Smithfield, a son of the late Charles L. Burdine and Frances Elizabeth Bacon Burdine.
He is survived by his four brothers, Samuel Alvin Burdine and wife JoAnn of East Liverpool, OH, William Eugene Burdine Sr. and wife Rosie of New Manchester, WV, Thomas Lindsay Burdine and Vernon Howard Burdine, both living at home; two nieces, Anita (Rob) Hopwood of New Cumberland, WV, and Loretta (Clint) Miller of East Liverpool, OH; four nephews, Willard Burdine Jr. of Chester, WV, Sammy Burdine Jr. of Paris, OH, Brandon Groves of Chester, WV and David Hopwood of Tridelphia, PA; great-nieces and great-nephews, Joey (Breanna) Hopwood of Chester, WV, Devynn Hopwood of New Cumberland, WV, and Matthew Miller of East Liverpool, OH; and a great-great- nephew, Shane Marshall of New Cumberland, WV.
In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by two sisters, Leota May Burdine and Nellie Rose Burdine.
LeRoy was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Rush’s Tire Service in Nutterfort having worked 45 years prior to retirement in 2005. He was a lifelong member of the Pricetown Church of Christ having preached there as well as Wallace, Joes Run and JoeTown Church of Christ Churches. He enjoyed reading the Bible, camping and hunting.
Visitation will be held at the Pricetown Church of Christ on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 1:00pm with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

We are saddened to learn of LeRoy's passing. We met LeRoy and the Burdine family when we were at the Pricetown Church of Christ. We appreciated their hospitality and kindness. Our prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow.
