
Chester David Bissett, age 79 of Mohans Run, Mannington, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 27, 2022. He passed away quietly at his home with his family at his side. He was born March 14, 1943 in Eldora, WV, a son of the late Rev. Chester Samuel Bissett and Lillian Gorbey Bissett.
He is survived by his wife Judith Hayes Bissett; a daughter and son-in-law, Anna Maria and David Hughes; three grandchildren, April Hughes of Arizona, David Hughes and his wife Melanie of WV and Brittni Tatterson of WV; five great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Newbrough and Kadence Spiker, Maliah and Maggie Hughes and Donavin McDonald; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Linda Bissett of WV; a sister Sharon Bissett of WV, three nephews, Allen Bissett of WV, and David and Michael Burton of NJ.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Lea Tatterson.
David was a member of the Blackshere United Methodist Church and was a Class of 1962 graduate of Mannington High School. He served in the United States Navy for four years - mostly in Florida where he repaired and painted aircraft. David worked along-side his father and mother for many years in the family business, Bissett Body Shop. He loved riding motorcycles at which he was really good, switching over to ATVs in his later years.
David will be deeply and forever missed by his entire family!
There will be no funeral home visitation. Funeral services will be held at the graveside of the family cemetery, Mountain View Cemetery on Mohans Run Rd on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 9:00am with Pastor Randy Vincent officiating. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
