Christine Louise Starcher, age 60 of Barrackville, WV passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Pierpont Center Fairmont Campus. She was born June 5, 1964 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Lester Kenneth Arnett and Glenoka “Dokey” Mae DeVault Arnett.
She is survived by three children, Robert Kenneth Hixon and wife Rosa of Fairmont, Rachella Hixon Wood and husband Aaron of Republic, MO, and Steven Hixon of Mannington and his companion Michelle Hootman, and her step-daughter Dawn Starcher Menefee and husband James of Midway, GA. Christine is also survived by nine grandchildren, Aliyah Starcher Merritt Barefield and husband Elijah, Evan Hootman, Serena Hixon, Connor Hixon, Destiny Donley, Caleb Angeline, Caylee Hixon, Leanna Hixon and Bailey Hixon, two great-grandchildren, John Ryder Drain and Weston Angeline, and two siblings, Kendra (Darrel) Gray of Wardensville, WV and Thomas (Wendy) Arnett of Fairmont, WV.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband Russell Ray Starcher who died December 17, 2024 as well as her brother Kenneth Gregory “Greg” Arnett.
Christine attended East Fairmont High School and was a graduate of Fairmont State College with a bachelor’s degree in medical Records where she went on to work at United Hospital Center in their Medical Records Dept. She was a member of the Covenant Church in Fairmont and enjoyed working in her flower beds and was an excellent cook. She loved her grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them!
There will be no funeral home services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the VFW Post 7048 in Fairmont, WV beginning at 5:00pm. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
