
Donald Eugene Sides, age 55 of Mannington, WV passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from injuries due to a motorcycle accident. He was born November 28, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois a son of the late John Eddy and Joyce Morlock Eddy.
He survived by his daughter Mariah Sides of Mannington and her companion Wes Byard, his sister-in-law Deanne Vice Graham of Alabama, and his nephew Trent Vice and his niece Charity Vice. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother Marshall A.Vice.
Don was a Veteran of the United State Army serving in the West Virginia National Guard from 1986-1988. He was a member of the AF&AM #31 in Mannington and also the Mannington Elks Lodge #388. He previously served as a Bus Driver for the Marion County Board of Education and also as a Police Officer for the City of Mannington, Farmington and Rivesville.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 from 11:00am to 2:00pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm with Pastor Terry Osbourne officiating. Interment will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery where serving as pall bearers will include John Hicks, Cecil Daft, Dana Rush, Eric Parker, Ray “Spanky” Shadrick and Jim Rigsby.
I am saddened by the passing of Don. He mad we great strides in his journey in life and became a favorite of mine.
