Edward Jefferson Fetty Sr., 80 of Joetown, WV passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Valentine’s Day being his special day he always devoted to his wife. He was born January 22, 1943 in Fairmont, WV son of the late Albert Fetty of Joetown and Martha Villers Gump of Mannington. He was raised by his grandparents, Daniel and Sabra Fetty of Joetown.

Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Lucas Fetty, two daughters, Katie (Daniel) Slater and Crystal (Rex) Bartlett, a son Eddie Fetty Jr. and companion Beth Reel, 5 granddaughters, Amanda Slater, Aminda (Vance) Webster, Serenity Reel, Patience Fetty and Jocelyn Bartlett, 4 grandsons, Justin (Shalyn) Bartlett, Nathan Bartlett, Malachi Reel and Elijah Reel, and 8 great-grandchildren, all from Joetown. Also surviving are his half-brothers Ron, Ed, Ward Lee and Mick Gump and his half-sister, Alice Gump, all of Mannington.

Ed was outgoing, always helping his community and others. He was a devoted member of the Joetown United Methodist Church helping as a caretaker of the church, the Grangeville Community Center and the Elizabeth Mason Cemetery for many decades. Ed worked for U-Haul in Novi, Michigan and retired a Shop Supervisor from Trailer City in Fairmont. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family. He also enjoyed antique cars, music, holidays, and riding tractors with the kids.

Ed’s family is blessed to have had him in their lives and describe him as an “ice cream before bed” and “let’s take the long ride home” kind of Grandpa! The family wishes to express their appreciation to Amedysis Hospice Care of Anmoore and their family and friends who dedicated their love and attention to our angel!

Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with funeral services beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Harry Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at the Elizabeth Mason Cemetery in Joetown.

Ed, was a great man. I recall him waking to Sunday school with his family on warm days.
