Eston Farrell Petry, age 83 of Barrackville, WV passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the Manchin Assisted Living Home in Bridgeport. He was born April 18, 1940 in Exchange, WV, a son of the late Paul Petry and Clara M. Foster Petry and step-mother Fannie Linville Petry.
He is survived by his former wife Sandra Kay Crim Petry of Fairmont, his three children, Jennifer and (Daniel) Shearer of Fairmont, Boyd Farrell Petry of Fairmont and Susan Kay Petry of Clarksville, TN, a former daughter-in-law Tina Merico Petry of Barrackville, and a grandson Alexander Boyd Petry of Fairmont. Eston is also survived by a brother David Blaine Petry of Cleveland, OH, a brother-in-law Ronald Poling of Hastings, MI, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Eston was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law Fred and Amelia Petry, a sister Joyce Ellen Poling, and a sister-in-law Lucy Petry.
Eston was a 1958 graduate of Mannington High School and a proud graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked many years for Consolidated Coal Company and Arch Coal Company. He also performed consulting work for the coal companies. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of West Virginia and was well loved and respected.
There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

I saw Eston two years ago with Jim Petitto and he was in good spirits doing well. I worked for Eston in the 1970s on the slurry project. RIP Eston.
