Ethel Louise Gump, age 83, of Norton, WV, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born January 7, 1937, in Waynesburg, PA, a daughter of the late Roy Russell Wright and Sarah Elizabeth Yost Wright.
She is survived by her daughter with whom she made her home with the last 22 years, Sharon and Dick Ross of Norton, WV; her son, Terry and Bonnie Gump of Funkstown, MD; 4 grandchildren, Corey and Sara Lane of Kingsville, W, Terry Jr. and Kaylia Gump of MD, Mark Gump of MD, and Cheyenne Gump of OH; one brother, Elza Wright of PA; two sisters-in-law, Patty Wright and Dolly Wright, both of PA; and two great-granddaughters, Alexis Lane and Autumn Lane of Kingsville, WV.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Gump; one son, James R. Gump; and two brothers, Leroy Wright and Eugene Wright.
Louise enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and word searches. She loved watching television, especially her NASCAR!!
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 4-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 1:00pm with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Interment will follow at Arnett Cemetery in Campbell’s Run. May you find comfort in your memories of her, for with them, she will always be with you. She is Home now, met by her loved ones who have gone before her & will never suffer again. Sharon and family, I am so sorry to hear about Louise. I was shocked when I heard about it. I thought she was doing really good. I know she is at peace now, She was loved by a lot of people, and know you will miss her. Love and prayers to you and your family.
