
George Guy Liggett, age 80 of Mannington, WV who passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. He was born May 26, 1944 in Smithfield, WV a son of late Lewis Liggett and Delphia Bates Liggett.
He is survived by wife of 60 years, Clarinda “Sue” Higginbotham Liggett with whom he married of July 18, 1964, four children, George and Rose Liggett of Mannington, Kimberley and Robert “Bobby” Porter of Mannington, Donald Liggett of Mannington, and Chris and Greg Cunningham of Spencer, IN, 20 grandchildren, Hope, Cameron, Joshua, Kirsten, Lyndsey, Kaleb, Taylor, John, Susan, Kyle, Kalen, Jacob, Jennifer, Cassie, Lindzee, Joe, Danilynn, Donald, Tommy and Kiera, and 25 great-grandchildren. George is also survived by two sisters, Doris “Kay” and Jim Wright of Smithfield and Charlotte Liggett of Morgantown, and tons of nieces and nephews.😊
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his half-brother John Clark, 6 sisters, Edith Shreves, Ramona Halsey, Donna Gay, June Puskarich, Sylvia Shockey and Barbara Delaney.
George was employed at Lumberport Shinnston Gas for 35 years and he enjoyed hunting, especially when he was able to go with his son George and grandsons Cameron, Kyle and his son-in-law Greg. He was a loving husband and father who was a hard worker who kept his family and instilled those values in his children. He will be sadly missed by all!

There will be a graveside service for the public on Monday, March 3, 2025 beginning at 12:00pm at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Dan Adkins and Pastor Gary Sloan officiating. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
