James Edward Martin, age 62 of Worthington, WV passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born October 22, 1958 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Harold and Virginia Capozzi Martin.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Lynn (Riggs) Martin of Worthington; a daughter, Amy Riggs of Worthington; two grandchildren, Jacob Shoemaker and fiancé Charity Ash of Monongah, and Skylar Shoemaker and fiancé Dylan Michael of Monongah; four siblings, Patty Parrish and niece Jennifer Parrish of Mannington, Carolyn Carnes and husband Tim of Mannington, Roger Martin and wife Sally of Mannington, and Diane Martin of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by an infant son, Jason Martin; a sister and brother-in-law, Debra and David Gray; and a brother-in-law, Marvin “Bud” Parrish.

James had worked for Applied Construction Solutions in Bridgeport for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding 4-wheelers with his brother.

There will be no services at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend graveside memorial services on Monday, October 18, 2021 beginning at 12:00pm at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
