John Allen Capet, age 71 of Fairmont, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Fairmont Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was born April 2, 1950 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Samuel Harry Capet and Mildred May Stewart Capet.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Mays Capet of Grantown; three children, John Allen Capet II of Grantown and his significant other Misty Wiant, Camille Tennant of Fairmont, and Samuel Capet of Monongah; a step-daughter, Tasha Kernan and husband Robert of Mannington; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Sandy Smith and husband Franklin of Metz; and several nieces and nephews.
John was employed for the Times West Virginian newspaper and had previously worked at Peabody Coal Co. Federal #2 for 17 ½ years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going camping.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff and employees at both WVU Hospital (Hospice) and Fairmont Health and Rehab (Guardian Healthcare) who took care of John while he was under their supervision.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St. in Mannington on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00am with Pastor Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Farmington. John was a good person .when I would have bad days he would always make me lough .we would go fishing sometimes together and when he would go to deliver papers I would always fall asleep while we are delivering papers .put he always wake me up to ha are you going to put the paper in the box. But he was the nicest boy he was the nicest guy that I would ever meet .I am going to really miss him alot
