
Joyce Ann Moore, age 73 of Mannington WV passed away from cancer on December 7, 2021. She resided with her son Jesse and Belinda Moore in Fairview.
She was born on April 3, 1948 a daughter of the late Edgar Walter and Betty Capet Holcomb. She is survived by her sons, William Moore (Fairview), Kenneth Moore Jr. (Mannington) and Jesse Moore and wife Belinda (Fairview); step-grandson, Steven and Hayley Zembraski; step-great-grandchildren, Kyler Berry, Sylas Zembraski, Mila Zembraski and Everleigh Morrison; three siblings, Becky Garland, Sharon Martin, and Nancy Hibbs; and several nieces and nephews and special friends that all meant the world to her!
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her late fiancé, David Strosnider whom she dearly loved; a husband, Kenneth Moore Sr.; a daughter, Tammy Moore; a step-grandson, Jonathan Frausto; and four siblings, Eugene Holcomb, Jim Holcomb, Gerald Holcomb and Mable “Tootsie” Capet.
Joyce was a devoted mother and loved to be with family and friends. She had a big heart for animals and took care of many dogs, cats, groundhogs, raccoons, rabbits…. She touched many people and always put others before herself. She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, camping with the family making memories to last forever.
Special acknowledgement to WVUH Dr. Kamran with Medical Oncology who helped give her quality of life after being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Tiffany Gore, home health aide allowing Joyce to come home for Thanksgiving. Thanks also to Amedisys Hospice Care for coming every day to make sure she was comfortable.
Joyce has requested to leave her remains with WVU Human Gift Registry in hopes they will find a cure for cancer. She fought lung cancer and a rare urethral cancer and didn’t want anyone else to fight it. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 2-6:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 6:00pm with Pastor Scott Krepps officiating.
