Mary Ella Perkins, age 87, of Rachel, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at her residence. She was born April 29, 1935 in Cowen, WV. She was the daughter of the late James Blaine Irvin and Sylvia Sexton Rankin Irvin.
Mary is survived by three children, one daughter, Cindy VanPelt (Delmus) of Rachel, two sons, Stephen Perkins (Phyllis) of Rachel, Charles Perkins (Rosie) of Fairview, and six grandchildren, Jennifer VanPelt, Derik VanPelt, Danielle Dillon, Stephen Perkins, Zachary Perkins, and Matthew Perkins.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dorman Perkins who passed away on April 13, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jim Irvin, Bob Irvin, and one sister, Betty Lou McIntire.
Mary worked a St. Barbara’s Nursing Home, Westinghouse, and private home health for several patients. She was a Baptist by faith, enjoyed crafting, cooking, baking, sewing, made clothes, and opened her home to everyone. She was very kind and did not know a stranger.
Family and friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 E Main Street, Mannington, WV on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Burial will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.

Cindy and the boys. I so sorry I couldn’t make it but this pneumonia has me down. Your momma is sweetest kindest and best cook ever. So funny Cindy, Jett and myself would show up there get ready hit the Prime Time she would make sure we ate. Lots memories back then and seem she never aged. Most beautiful person inside and out. Fly high pretty lady. You have your wings.

The First couple of Years , We were Arch Enemies :( LOL !!! ... As, Time Unfolded ... We became .. SO CLOSE , That We ..Were Closer than we were to Our Own Sisters , How Unbelievable Is THAT !!!!!! How , Mary LOVED Her Children and was a Wonderful Wife to Her Husband :) Mary, was INCREDIBLY Artistic and Honestly; I BELIEVE , that , there was Absolutely , NOTHING .... That She , could not Master :) :) :) To Me , My Friend, Best Friend ... I Have Ever Had , Do and Will MISS YOU !!!!!!! , until We Meet Again , My Friend ... I LOVE YOU , Bibi
