Melissa Dawn Jones, age 42 of Mannington, WV passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born January 2, 1978 in Texas, the daughter of Gay Benjamin Cunningham and Mary Sue Beveridge Reppert Cunningham and her step-father John Reppert. She is survived by her husband Samuel Eric Jones of Mannington; step-son Robert Jones of Fairmont; two children, Kimberly Sue Jones and Jakob Paul Jones, both of Mannington; two brothers, Tony and Mariah Cunningham of Fairmont, and Shawn and Amy Cunningham of Rosebud, WV; several nieces and nephews, Emily Bock and daughter Ellista Sue, Gabriel Cunningham, Julian Cunningham, Lillian Sue Cunningham, Jasmine and Thomas Baker and their sons Jeremiah and Trenton, Riana and Levi Lynch and their daughter Nevaeh, and Dallas and John Cunningham, sister-in-laws Ryan and Ann Martin, nephews Austin Cozart, Bryan McGary, Andrew McGary, niece Reaghan Martin, a great niece, Aveline McGary, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lindsey and Paul Carpenter,nephew Ryan, neice Kalianna and nephew Gunner Carpenter. Melissa was preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Harry and Shirley Markley; an aunt, Ann Crandall; mother-in-law, Shirley Ann Cross Jones; and a son, Joseph Eric Jones. Melissa attended the Metz Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and watching her daughter play baseball and softball. There will be no visitation or funeral services as cremation was chosen as the final method of disposition.
