Michael C. Toothman, age 61, of Mannington, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 unexpectedly at home from complications of heart problems. He was born December 17, 1959 at Fairmont, a son of Rella Fullen Toothman of Mannington with whom he shared a home, and the late Max C. Toothman.
in addition to his mother, Mike is survived by two sons and five granddaughters, son Kyle (Chassity Taylor) Toothman and granddaughters Isabel Garcia, Kirra and Piper Toothman, son Cody Toothman and granddaughters Chloe and Nova Toothman and their mother Megan L.R. Eakin. He is also leaving behind his sister Denise (Perry) Rice, niece Chelsea (Aaron) Kennedy and great-nephews Braiden and Maxley Kennedy, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Jo Weaver Toothman on November 11, 2007.
Mike loved having his family around. The little ones made him smile and they will miss him terribly. He had various jobs in his lifetime, retiring from Federal #2 Mine as a proud member of the UMWA Local 1570. He enjoyed WVU sports, both football and basketball as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Driving by his home, you could often see him and hear music playing. He loved finding new and different songs of all types.
Before health issues took a toll, Mike enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends at Pollack’s General Store or at the garage tinkering on cars. He saw a lot of friends and family members pass on before him and always had memories to share about each one. He loved to tell stories and jokes and on occasion pull pranks on his family and friends.
Per Mike’s request, he will be cremated with no visitation. A memorial/celebration of life may be held at a later date. Cards with stories of Mike’s moments shared with others or just for comfort may be mailed to his family via his sister at Denise Rice, PO Box 421, Fairview, WV 26570. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mastersfuneralhomewv.com as well as the funeral home facebook page. Masters Funeral Home has been placed in care of the final arrangements.

Rella and Family, So sorry to hear that your son has died. We're in Richmond, VA, now, but check the Fairmont news often. We lost Floyd five years ago. He lost a daughter a few years earlier. Sorry, too, that you lost your husband, Max. I hope you are well. Marv and I are doing ok. We have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. All are fine. Hope Ruby Lee is okay, too. Not many of our family are left. We miss the "old days". Praying for you and yours !
Love and Blessings,
Carol Fullen Bomar
